As we prepare to welcome the New Year, Innovative Career Resources is taking some time to reflect on 2013 and focus on the new direction we are headed in 2014. We’re tossing aside stereotypical resolutions in favor of a few to help us grow as a company and provide added value to our clients and associates.
1) Become More Social Media Savvy
There is no denying the importance of an active social media presence when doing business in today’s digital world. We recently launched LinkedIn and Twitter company pages, and in 2014 we plan to enhance our presence and utilize these channels for continued relationship-building, disseminating career opportunities in real-time, as well as continuing to be the number one career resource to our associates.
2) Offer More Resources to Associates
We are committed to providing our associates with all the tools needed to secure the career for which they are striving. In 2014, we will offer our associates more software tutorials aimed at sharpening their professional skills and enhancing their career development.
3) Streamline Processes
“Innovative” is not just a part of our brand name; it also describes our outlook on conducting business. Next year, we will be streamlining processes by using the Lean Six Sigma managerial concept in our day-to-day office practices to increase productivity and help serve more clients and associates.
4) Become More Socially and Environmentally Aware
In planning for the future, we want to maximize our company’s ability to think and act “green” in 2014. For example, next year we will transition to a digital time card system and transfer most of our paper files to electronic files, which will help our office save significant paper resources and money. Innovative will in turn be donating 10 percent of our cost savings to local and international charities such as the Orange County Rescue Mission and Deaf Ministries International in order to assist, feed and clothe those less fortunate.
5) Continue to Take Smart Risks
As Ayn Rand said, “The question isn’t who is going to let me; it’s who is going to stop me.” We are dedicated to the success of our associates, and we will continue to dream big and take the risks necessary to help them achieve that success.
